Word(y) Wednesday: Carrots

Marchewki
pronounced Mɑr-hev-key

Carrots

From my garden...  Growing some in rows in the garden, some in hanging containers...

While waiting for our own to harvest, we buy whole carrots from the local farmers market...

Some Tips About Carrot Leaves:

Use carrot leaves in salads and sauces

Use carrot leaves in soups.  They add a nice flavor to the soup that is a bit different than carrot, either instead of or combined with carrots. They also add a nice splash of green color in soups.

Freeze Carrot leaves to use later during cold winter months.

Carrot leaves are loaded with vitamin K and Potassium.

Carrot leaves can be used in place of parsley in recipes as a nice change.
