Lazanki

I already made Turkey Lazanki once for you all but I thought I would make it again, this time more traditionally.  The noodles I used were from the Polish store and are the ones most typically used in Lazanki.

Ingredients:

1 Packet of Lazanki Noodles (these are flat 1" squares), boiled
1 Thick Slab of Real Bacon (not that need-to-fry-to-eat stuff, real Smoked Bacon that is ready to eat)
1/4 Head of Cabbage, diced
1/2 Sweet Onion, diced
2 Tablespoons Butter or Smalec
Soy Sauce or Maggi Sauce
Ground Pepper
Marjoram, Dill, or Curly Parsley to taste

Optional:  1/2 cup of authentic Polish Sauerkraut

Caramelize the Onion in Butter or Smalec.

Add Cabbage.

Cook on medium low slightly covered until very soft.

Add diced Bacon.

Add Sauerkraut, if using.

Heat through.

Season with Pepper, Soy Sauce, and Herb of choice to taste.

Mix with Noodles.

Bake in oven at 325 degrees for a few minutes (usually 15-25 minutes) until heated through.

Serve...

Smacznego!
